History
Channel Islands Yacht Club was organized on December 8, 1959, and incorporated on January 12, 1960 as a not-for-profit 501-C6 corporation, making it the first yacht club in the Ventura County Small Craft Harbor. CIYC occupied its present location at 4100 Harbor Ave. since 1967. Club is open Wednesday evenings, Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon and whenever needed to support club and community activities.

CIYC is a good corporate citizen to the Channel Islands Harbor and Ventura County. Through out its history, its members and guests lease boat slips within the harbor, support the boat yards and chandleries, dine in the restaurants, purchase food and supplies from the local stores and purchase boats from the yacht brokers.

CIYC is a major attraction within the harbor and makes a significant contribution to its financial viability and growth. CIYC draws visitors from Seattle, Washington to Encinitas, Mexico, and members and guests from the local areas (Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties).
