Origin ating in Britain in the 1840&rsquo\;s\, they have become very popular thr oughout Europe and the rest of the world. For many years the bands were k ept alive in the United States largely by the Salvation Army&rsquo\;s inf luence.\n\nUnlike most popular brass ensembles in the United States\, our British style brass band has a fixed\, standard instrumentation using co rnets\, not trumpets\, and tenor horns\, not French horns. Cornets are pi tched the same as trumpets\, but have the different shaped conical bore\, and the tubing is wrapped tighter\, making it appear smaller than a stan dard trumpet. The different bore gives the cornet a darker\, mellower\, m ore lyrical sound. Tenor horns are like a smaller euphonium or baritone\, and sound like a high baritone rather than the dark noble sound of the F rench horn.\n\nVisit our website at www.venturabritishbrass.com (805) 797-3055\n DTEND:20180217T060000Z DTSTAMP:20240329T075423Z DTSTART:20180217T030000Z LOCATION: SEQUENCE:1 SUMMARY:7pm Ventura British Brass Concert UID:325055c9-4f9a-467c-8df7-a76eb4050fd9 X-ALT-DESC:
